OB appt today 38w

Hi all!!  Well I saw the OB today and since I had twins last time this little baby has plenty of room!!  So needless to say the baby doesn’t have to stay snugg in the pelvis so there isn’t any changes.  Of course we already have the c-section scheduled for next Tues at noon but I’m just impatient and want something to happen now.  So as far as the appointment went every thing checked out well!!  Baby is super happy and she says that she still thinks the baby is pretty big.  Well since I was carrying around almost 12lbs of baby and then all the other stuff that goes with it like 2 sacs, 2 sets of water, 2 placenta ect this little one must have a ton of room!!

Here is our 38w picture.  Our next post will be the birth story!!!!!

Baby shower, 37w, and OB appts

Chris and I went to a baby shower with Richard and Amy in their town and it was so wonderful!!!  Her friends are so nice and we had wonderful conversation with them.  They were secretly watching me and the belly and their friends and family think it’s a girl.  We will see in a few short weeks.  I know the gender is still unknown.

I’m so sorry I’ve not been writing very regularly.  We are very pregnant and I’m so ready!!  It’s always hard at the end because (whining warning) I can’t sleep, my hands get numb and hurt when I sleeping that keeps me up, having to roll over from side to side constantly all night long, having to get up to pee at night, the baby’s moved down so I feel pelvic pressure when I walk, and my hips just hurt a lot.  So as you can read that I’m not getting a lot of sleep or am able to be comfortable during the day too.  I usually have contractions at night but they don’t amount too much after a few hrs so I just go to bed.  Ugh!!  Ok whine over 🙂

The OB said at our last visit we were 37w and my belly measured 39w.  The baby has been doing to rocking thing the last few months but I didn’t know what it was.  Baby was rocking at our visit yesterday and I asked our OB what it was.  She said it was the baby practicing breathing.  So cool!!!!  Now when I feel baby breathing like that I put my hand on my belly and imagine it being on baby’s back.  Just really really neat!!  My weight, blood pressure, and ankle swelling is doing great.  Ob say’s she wouldn’t be surprised if we went early because baby is on the big side and it’s my 5th pregnancy one being twins.

My husband got layed off on a thursday and got a new job on Monday which is super but now he’s working out-of-town 2hrs away and won’t be home until Friday night.  My OB is going to be out-of-town Thursday to Sunday so she said don’t deliver!!  My sister will take me if I go in labor early and then my husband will meet me at the hospital.

I’m so excited for the baby to come for the parents!!  I was just thinking about all the neat stuff they get to experience.  What a wonderful journey and a huge blessing!!  Thank you Lord for my IP’s and their family!!!

So I go the dr again next Tuesday 4-3-12.  I’ll update then for sure of we might be having birth announcement.  You never know!!

29w I guess it’s about time for an update :)

Sorry it’s been a long time since I’ve updated.  Life’s been busy and we’ve had the holidays.  Things have been going well on the baby front.  We are now 29w and moving right along.  Our c-section date is 4-10-12.  All the physical stuff is looking good.  They baby is measuring a bit large though.  I got a growth scan from my sono tech at work a few weeks ago and the baby is measuring a little over 2w ahead.  We aren’t going to change dates since we know the exact date of conception but that means that this little Clay will most likely be a big Clay 🙂  The OB says she isn’t concerned that it would put me into early labor.  I’ve had some bronchitis that I’ve been trying to shake and it’s making me super tired!!  I had a few days off this week to rest.  I do feel better but they say the congestion is the last thing to go and boy they are right.  This little one is moving like crazy and sometimes I think the baby is going to pop right out the middle there’s so much action.  One night when I was sick I was up till 3:30a and video a little for Amy.  She was like wow!!!  Not too much longer now.  Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Our OB appt at 16w

Sorry it’s been forever since I’ve updated but I’ve been busy and then sick.

Every thing went great with the appt.  I lost the pound I gained the last month so for this pregnancy there has been zero weight gain!!  I am happy about that since I am fluffy to start with it is ok if I don’t gain any weight and as long the baby is growing and by the look of my belly he/she is!!  We got to hear the heart beat on the doppler but I didn’t get a clear recording for Amy and Richard to send but it was neat.  Also the OB was searching with the wand way to low on my abdomen and I told her that he/she was up more.  Well sure enough she found the heart beat and since my belly is sticking out a lot for this early in the pregnancy I would say my uterus is a little larger after the twins 🙂  My blood pressure was great which has never been a concern in any pregnancy.

We go back Dec 1st for our 20w anatomy sono and we are not finding out the sex of the baby.  It will be a surprise until he/she pops out.  So if I refer to the baby as he or she in our blog it’s not because I know, it’s because I don’t like to call the baby it.

I had a great weekend for my 16yr anniversary!!  We went away for the weekend and had an awesome time relaxing and being alone!!  I did end up getting sick on Sunday with a sinus infection but thanks to my great OB for letting me have a z-pak when I was at my last visit because I thought I was going to get one.  That was a life saver.  I am a lot better and just have a little congestion.  I am excited about Thanksgiving next week and feel very thankful for many many things!!  My nieces wedding is next Saturday so we are going to be gone for the whole weekend but it will be fun.  My son is out of school for the week and will be doing chores How Fun For Him!!  So glad he’s old enough to clean half way decent.  We are going to go Thanksgiving food shopping tomorrow and Taylor is going to church with us and help get groceries so that will be very nice.  I really can’t believe this month has flown by and tomorrow we will be 1/2 way done because the OB is taking me 1w early due to a repeat c-sec.  We turn on Sundays so I don’t know if that will be 38w almost 39 or 39w almost 40 but I’m going to try to get it on  Friday April 6th.  Of course it will be up to her and my body on how close she thinks we are to labor.  Oh my dad and I went on a daddy daughter dinner date on Friday which was a lot of fun!!  The older we both get the more enjoyable he is to be with.  It’s nice because we didn’t really have a great relationship.  So here’s some pics.  There is my 17w belly, Chris and I on our Anniversary, my kitty Gizzy, one of Taylor’s senior pictures, and my dad and I.

13w OB appt

We finally met the OB today and it was a wonderful visit!!  Our OB is so nice and friendly!!  I’m so glad Amy and Richard like her.  Well we couldn’t see the rump of the baby on the old sono machine so she sent us down the hall to the good sono machine.  We saw the baby wiggling around.  So happy to be pregnant with the Clay’s baby!!!  We got to talk about delivery and hospital stuff which was really fun.  Took some great pictures and had a wonderful visit!!  We get back together at the 20w sono.  Hopefully we can get together some time between now and then to say hi.  Here are some pictures from today and a video of the baby’s heartbeat.   We are still due 4-15-11 but she said since I’m having a c-sec than we will deliver about a week early because she doesn’t want me to go into labor.

9w sono and we are released!!

So Friday we had another sono and we were almost 9w.  We had a full house in the room which I didn’t think the dr would be ok with but I’m so glad he was!!! It was my mom, Amy, Richard, Amy’s parents, Richards mom, and her cousin in addition to the dr and nurse.  They all got to see the baby moving around and doing a special little dance.  They got to see his or her heart beat and the dr printed out 7 different pictures for every one of the baby.  He said everything looked great and released us to our OB!!!

It was really awesome to be in the room with every one!!  Faye said she’d never seen a sono before.  They were all so thankful for this baby and to see the emotion was so touching to me and my momma.  So there were lots of well earned tears.

We go see her 9-28-11 for our new OB appt.  So excited to be underway on another part of our journey and the more normal part!!  Hopefully it will be a very normal 7 months!!!  Mom and I went to the Cheese cake factory after that for dinner and it was wonderful!!!  Love their sourdough bread!!!  Here’s some pics of the group and one of mom and I.

How your baby’s growing:

Your new resident is nearly an inch long — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She’s starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they’ll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby’s heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic “tail” is completely gone. Your baby’s organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won’t be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won’t open until 27 weeks. She has tiny ear lobes, and her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby’s basic physiology is in place, she’s poised for rapid weight gain.

How your life’s changing:

You still may not look pregnant even if your waist is thickening a bit. You probably feel pregnant, though. Not only are morning sickness and other physical symptoms out in full force for most women, but you may feel like an emotional pinball as well.

Mood swings are common now — it’s perfectly normal to feel alternately elated and terrified about becoming a parent. Try to cut yourself some slack. Most women find that moodiness flares up at around six to ten weeks, eases up in the second trimester, and then reappears as pregnancy winds to a close.

Baby, fetus at 9 weeks - BabyCenter

We are going to have another sono on the 9th.

Things are going really well so far!!  Just feeling really full most of the time.  We have another sono on the 9th that I will see Amy and Richard for too.  We are 8w1d today!!  We should see the baby moving around a little this time.  The sono machine at Dr. M’s isn’t as good as the one I have at work so I was glad that I did a sono 1st with the heartbeat because we got a much better picture.  We even got a strip of the heart beat but we didn’t have sound so I couldn’t hear it.  They didn’t have that feature on Dr. M’s either.  Oh well we will get another sono when we start to see our OB.  Hopefully we can be released to the OB after this appt!!

How your baby’s growing:

New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby’s hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his “tail” is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven’t developed enough to reveal whether you’re having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can’t feel it.

How your life’s changing:

// You may notice that your bra is getting more snug. Soon you’ll likely need a larger size with better support. Rising levels of hormones cause breast growth and other tissue changes, all in preparation for lactation. Your breasts may continue to grow throughout pregnancy. Don’t be surprised if you go up a cup size or two, especially if it’s your first baby. Keep this in mind, and allow for room to grow when investing in a new bra.

Feeling fatigued? Hormonal changes — in particular, a dramatic rise in progesterone — may be contributing to your sluggishness. Nausea and vomiting can certainly cost you energy, too. And you may be having trouble getting a good night’s sleep at this point, especially if you’re uncomfortable or find you need to get up to pee.
